That 70's Cape

Hope your week is going well. I am continuing the tartan cape trend on the blog this week. I wore this cape last year in the post here. Thought I would try it with a 70's boho look this time around. It is vintage, raided from my mom's closet. Not too many days you can wear something like this because it gets cold so fast here in Canada! But it is a lot of fun to wear, and how great does it look with this hat?! Totally groovy.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Have a great day!

Wrap Me Up

Hello! Hope you had a nice weekend. I went out for martinis Saturday night. Fancy. The weather warmed up a bit here in Toronto which was a nice change from the cold of last week. The snow has melted!

I bought this cape/poncho from Topshop a couple of weeks ago and I am wearing it non-stop.
Its great as a cover-up and also a scarf. Such a lovely classic pattern and beautiful colours.
Until I can splurge and get my Burberry scarf this will definitely do.
A great little number to wrap myself up in for the winter.

Wedding to Weekend

I was asked by Weddington Way to participate in their November Style Challenge. Weddington Way is an online boutique that offers bridesmaid dresses that have a party style. They offer a range of styles, cuts and colours that make lovely bridesmaid dresses. You can shop by colour, length of dress, price and fabric. Its a lot of fun to browse through all the wonderful dresses.
The challenge was this: If you were asked to be a bridesmaid, how would you transform your bridesmaid dress from the traditional wedding ensemble to a weekend outfit?
Challenge accepted...

Catch the Bouquet
Earrings: Swarovski | Clutch: Anthropologie | Shoes: Browns

The dress I chose was the lovely Lela Rose bridesmaid dress. The fabric is a crinkle chiffon that has a flattering cut along the neckline and below the hips. It comes in a variety of colours of which I chose the classy but sexy Wild Berry. I think this colour would be great for a winter wedding and also a holiday cocktail party.

For a wedding, it's all about simple elegance. A pair of stud earrings, pretty yet subtle sandals.
I love this clutch, it adds just a pop of jazz to the outfit.

Cocktail Hour
Necklace: French Connection | Clutch: Alexander McQueen | Shoes: Aldo

I love this dress because it can easily be transformed into a sexy little number for a night out. The accessories I chose are not subtle but very sexy. I think this dress would look great with a statement necklace and pair of killer heels. A fun and unique clutch always finishes a night-out look. This Alexander McQueen beauty is just a tad out of my price range but great for inspiration. This outfit will take you from cocktails to the dance floor. Don't wait up...

Thank you Weddington Way for asking me to participate in your style challenge!

Under My Umbrella

Hello! Hope you had a nice weekend. Today I am linking up with Michaela from The Monogrammed Midwesterner and Connie from Prep Northwest to participate in the Rainy Day Style Linkup. We were asked to share our go-to rainy day outfit and here is mine. My rainy day style includes a cute umbrella and trench coat. A pair of stylish waterproof boots is also not a bad idea.
We were also asked to answer a few questions for the linkup:
What's your favourite way to keep warm on a rainy day?
A long jacket and scarf.
Are you a hood, umbrella, or both kind of girl?
As you can see from these photos....I am an umbrella girl!
What is your best hair tip for a rainy day?
Put it up in a bun.
What's you favourite thing to do on a rainy day?
Curl up with a cup of tea and look out the window.

Be sure to check out Michaela's blog for a giveaway of a rain jacket from Ace & Ivy!

The Room

I love going to the third floor of the Bay downtown Toronto to walk around The Room. The Room showcases beautiful designer clothing and accessories. The displays are always lovely. Last week they had an exhibit of the designer Thom Browne.
While roaming around I created a little wishlist in my head. Christmas is coming, Dear Santa....

I am so looking forward to the weekend! Happy Friday!

Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Yesterday I went to the Royal Fair held annually in Toronto. I've been going every year for the past few years and enjoy myself every time. I love walking around and looking at all the lovely animals. Especially lovely are the Percheron horses all dressed up and ready for the horse shows. This year there was a pretty Christmas tree competition.
I also met some friendly sheep and goats at the petting zoo.
A fun way to spend an afternoon!

Remembrance Day

In honour of Remembrance Day I thought I would share with you one of my favourite photos I took in Amsterdam.
This photo is a detail of the National Monument on Dam Square.
The WWII monument was built in 1956 to commemorate all those lost during the war.
Here is to a day of Remembrance.

Puppy Love

A fun outfit for Friday. I bought this sweater in September for an outdoor concert incase it got chilly.
Its a super cute sweater. Dare I say the print is rather adorable.
Perfect for a casual Friday look.

TGIF! Wishing you a great weekend!
